Visiting Batam for the first time and not sure where to start? Follow this three-day, two-night itinerary for a well-paced trip.
Batam is often treated as a quick day trip, but three days and two nights is enough to enjoy a mix of beaches, food, and shopping without rushing. Here's a rough itinerary you can adjust based on your own interests.
On day one, take some time to settle in after arriving by ferry, then explore the culinary scene downtown in the afternoon and evening. This is also a good time to exchange currency and pick up a local SIM card if you'll need one during the trip.
On day two, set aside a full day for outdoor activities: visit one of the beaches on the northeastern side of the island in the morning, then head to a nature attraction or recreation park in the afternoon. Spend the evening with a relaxation massage to unwind after a full day out.
On day three, leave time for souvenir shopping before heading back to the terminal. Arrive early at a souvenir center so you're not rushed, and keep at least an hour before your ferry departure for outbound immigration.
This itinerary can be trimmed or extended depending on your pace — if you prefer a slower trip, drop one stop per day so it doesn't feel too packed.
